Project Life: Triangles + Hand Stitched Pockets

I started off with an idea for a page, it wasn't working and I started to get frustrated. I took a breather and then it hit me. I wanted to do something different, something fun.. I thought about Elise Blaha Cripe's amazing 2014 title page and then this happened.

Last week, I ordered some of Amy Tan's new line Plus One from Two Peas in a Bucket and have been dying over the bold colours and patterns so I knew using those was a must. I cut down some 6x6 papers into 3x4 cards and sliced them vertically. Truthfully I didn't really plan anything out, I just stuck the papers where I thought they looked best. I also cut down a Jasmine Dowling "love you to the moon and back" card and put in a couple photos of Sophie and I. The back side of the page is just a variety of paper so it easily does with the photos that'll be next to it.

These videos Elise did for Studio Calico were a great help - except I hand stitched mine (again) with gold thread. I am so, so, so happy with how it turned out I can totally see myself doing this again, though it did take longer than I would have liked due to the hand stitching factor but in the end, it was totally worth it. Kudos to Elise for making her 12x12 page, this 6x8 page was a lot of work - can't imagine doing an entire 12x12 one!

Black, white, gold - yep, definite win in my books.

  1. This is so awesome! I love the look of the smaller pages but at the same time, I usually find myself with too many pictures for a 12x12! So I can't see myself cutting down anytime soon haha

  2. you are adorable!! loving the triangles you have here!

  3. Love the colors! As we say in french: j'adore!
