Project Life: Feb Eight

This was a lot of fun to make! I was a "bad Canadian" and didn't get up for the entire game - hey, come on it was 4am on a Sunday! But I did wake up and was able to watch the end and the medal ceremony. Right after it was finished I had the perfect idea on how to add it to my album.

Quick back story: I'm a huge Montreal Canadiens fan, Carey Price is the teams goalie - my goalie. So I support and cheer for him with anything he does. I've been following his career for a long time. My dad and I have even flown from Vancouver to Montreal just to watch some games at the Bell Centre. Let me tell you, there is nothing like it. I digress. So it was important to me to include this in my album to look back on years down the road, cause I'm a Habs fan for life.

I've had a free trial of Photoshop for the past month and it expired the day after the last day of the Olympics, so I had to work quickly on getting my Team Canada picture together. I sized most of the photos to 2x2 (one row has two 2x3's) and printed it as one full 6x8 picture. I heat embossed wood veneer letters with gold embossing powder so it would sparkle and stand out. The Go Gold card is actually a tag from H&M - it was serendipity and I found it in a changing room. It's gold foil and letterpressed and it had to be mine haha. I covered the H&M part with vellum and put the kraft 2014 from the Studio Calico Sugar Rush main scrapbook kit. I used one of my brush script printables (you can download them for free from this post) to add some journalling about the game. I also used my typewriter to journal on some vellum, still my absolutely most favourite way to add some text to photos.

  1. Love the bold colors of the one side complemented by the soft colors of the opposing page! Lovely :)
